Presented by Stephens College Playhouse Theatre Company - Ebenezer Scrooge is a prosperous curmudgeon who believes that personal wealth is far more valuable than the happiness and comfort of others. Scrooge summates his feelings of Christmas tidings and charitable giving but is forced to face his selfish ways when three ghosts appear to him on Christmas Eve and lead him through his Past, Present and Future. Music by Broadway heavy hitters Alan Menken and Lynn Ahrens breathe new life into this classic tale.

Presented by TRYPS Children’s Theater - With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone's hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. Annie is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of an orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. Annie eventually foils Miss Hannigan's evil machinations, finding a new home and family in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy.

August Wilson's The Piano Lesson
Presented by Columbia Entertainment Company - It is 1936, and Boy Willie arrives in Pittsburgh from the South in a battered truck loaded with watermelons to sell. He has an opportunity to buy some land down home, but he has to come up with the money right quick. He wants to sell an old piano that has been in his family for generations, but he shares ownership with his sister and it sits in her living room. She has already rejected several offers because the antique piano is covered with incredible carvings detailing the family’s rise from slavery. Boy Willie tries to persuade his stubborn sister that the past is past, but she is more formidable than he anticipated.

Set in the 1590s, brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom are desperate to write a hit play but are stuck in the shadow of that Renaissance rock star known as, "The Bard." When a local soothsayer foretells that the future of theatre involves singing, dancing and acting at the same time, Nick and Nigel set out to write the world’s very first musical.

Presented by Stephens College Playhouse Theatre Company - A small town has just begun to win fame and wealth through its medicinal spring waters. Dr. Stockmann, resident physician in charge, discovers that the waters are poisoned. He immediately reports this to his associates but is shocked to find that instead of being thanked, he is looked upon as a dangerous crank. The determined doctor realizes that the honesty and idealism he has counted upon to make the truth prevail simply does not exist in the face of selfish interests.

Romance writer Paul Sheldon is rescued from a near-fatal car crash by Annie Wilkes, a retired nurse and his self-professed "number one fan." While convalescing in her home he soon learns, to his terror, just how obsessive fandom can be!

The Threepenny Opera by Bertolt Brecht
Presented by Greenhouse Theatre Project - The Threepenny Opera premiered in Berlin in 1928. Written and composed by Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill, the show was loosely based on John Gay’s Beggar’s Opera, and was an attempt to create a new kind of opera and musical theatre. Set in the impoverished back alleys of Victorian London, The Threepenny Opera follows underworld antihero Mackie Messer aka Mack the Knife as he woos women and eludes the authorities. The sly melodies of composer Kurt Weill and the daring of dramatist Bertolt Brecht come together to create a socialist critique of the capitalist world.

Presented by Talking Horse Productions - Set in Nebraska in the ’90s, Will, a bit of a social outcast, and Mike, the popular football player, figure out that there is more to life than what high school has taught them. Days after graduation they explore their relationship and begin to ask themselves where their lives begin. Based on the album by Matthew Sweet, Girlfriend is a pop/rock musical for everyone who’s lived in a small town and feels for their first love.

Now is the Time - Final Read-Through
Now is the Time is the musical journey of 5 interconnected souls, that while living their human, everyday, complicated lives are learning simple, spiritual lessons. The songs allow the audience to peek into these lessons in grief, love, humor, and self-acceptance, that make for a show that is funny, real, from the heart, and honest.
The final read-through of the original musical, Now is the Time, will take place October 7 at 7:30 p.m. at Talking Horse Productions.
Ponies Improv - Double Feature
